The Temple 17 in the Sāñcī complex (Gupta Empire, India, 5th Century) is one of the first stone buddhist temples built in India which remains today. This recreation shows the temple several centuries after it was built, with a Buddha image inside, today lost.
This matte painting has been the final assignment for one of the subjects of the Masters Course in Virtual Heritage (Universidad de Alicante, Spain).
It combines a previous 3D design in Blender, based in original archaeological drawings and elevations, with a digital treatment in Sketchbook Pro and Photoshop.
